About National Home Improvement Month

An annual UK campaign, every April since 2007, encouraging people to fix, refresh and improve the homes they live in.

Since 2007

National Home Improvement Month began in 2007 to give people a reason, and a nudge, to tackle the jobs around the home they keep putting off. It has run every April since, with one break in 2020 when it moved to September.

Each year the Month shares practical advice through radio, newspapers, magazines and online, working with home improvement brands, trade bodies and well-known faces from home television, including Craig Phillips, Julia Kendell and Georgina Burnett.

In 2019 the Month introduced the #MakeOneChange challenge: one change, made in April, that helps you love the home you live in. It is still the heart of the campaign.

Who runs it

National Home Improvement Month is run by Digital Alchemy FZ-LLC, which owns and manages a group of UK awareness campaigns. Its media work is delivered with Relations Group, the UK broadcast PR agency behind the Month’s radio and TV coverage.

In the United States

In the US, National Home Improvement Month is marked every May by the National Association of the Remodeling Industry. The UK campaign runs in April.
